Why we collect information from you

We collect the information to enable us to register you to use the equipment under the daily scheme or when you are hiring equipment under the weekly hire scheme.

We may use your contact details in the event that we need to contact you regarding the Shopmobility service

What information do we collect?

You; (name, address, contact details, disability, weight)

Specific medical details (if you are using powered equipment)

to enable us to assess your access to use this equipment safely.

How is it collected and stored?

We collect the registration details in paper form filled in by you or your representative.

It is stored in this paper form and transferred onto our electronic database that also holds the record of when you use the equipment and your payments.

We collect the weekly hire details in paper form and it is stored in this form.

Who do we share the information with?

We do not normally share the information with anyone.

If we are requested to share your information we would first ask your permission if we could.

HMRC can inspect our VAT Exemption certificates at any time.

Is any information transferred to or stored on servers outside the European Economic Area?


How long do we keep your information?

We will keep your registration information for a maximum of four registration years (1st April- 31st March) (3years + current)

VAT Exemption Certificates will be kept for a maximum of seven registration years (6+current) as required by HMRC.

You or your appointed representative.

Medical professionals for certifying your fitness to operate powered equipment.

What are the consequences if we do not collect this data?

Shopmobility will not be able to register you and would decline your request for use of the equipment.
