Why we collect information about you

We collect information from you because you have applied for a job within the green space development team.

You are not required to give your information to the council for this purpose and therefore you consent to the information being used for this purpose only.

What information do we collect about you?

We collect your name and contact information (address, phone number, e-mail address), proof of ID e.g. copy of passport details or photo drivers licence, details of eligibility to work in the UK, qualifications, education institutions, details of previous and current employment and/or other relevant experience.

Who do we share this information with?

This information will be shared with the HR department, selection panel/ interview panel and administrative staff within the department. If your application is successful, your information will then be shared with other Council departments, such as ICT and Payroll.

Is there any information transferred to or stored on servers based outside the EEA?

No.

How long do we keep your information?

If your application is unsuccessful, we keep information about you for up to one year after the completion of the recruitment cycle (completion by successful applicant of their probationary period).

If you application is successful, your information is retained within the green space team for up to one year following the end of your period of employment. Other departments such as HR and payroll will retain your information in accordance with the retention schedules for those departments.

What are the consequences if we do not collect the data?

The council would be unable to assess your suitability for a role or enter into a contract of employment with you without the information requested.
