Commemorative bench scheme privacy statement
Why we collect information about you?
We collect information to communicate with you about your commemorative bench application. If your application is approved, we will then communicate with you about installation and payment.
The commemorative bench scheme is not a statutory duty on the Council. You consent to your information being used for the purpose of the bench application only.
What information do we collect about you?
We collect your title, name, address, contact details (telephone and e-mail) and details of the person or people in whose name(s) the bench is to be dedicated.
Who do we share this information with?
Sometimes people ask to be present when their bench is installed and if you request it, contact information can be shared with the contractor responsible for installation.
Is there any information transferred to or stored on servers based outside the EEA?
How long do we keep your information?
We keep information about you indefinitely, as enquiries can arise long after a bench has been installed and sometimes long after a bench has been removed, if it has reached the end of its service.
Who do we collect information from?
We collect information from you.
What are the consequences if we do not collect the data?
The council would be unable to organise a commemorative bench on your behalf without the information requested.
Are any decisions about you made by automatic means?
