Why we collect information about you
We collect information to compile a public register of cooling towers and evaporative condensers operating within the area.
This is a statutory obligation undertaken by the council in accordance with the Notification of Cooling Towers and Evaporative Condenser Regs1992
What information do we collect about you?
We collect information about:
- You (name and address as person in control of premises)
- Your contact details
Who do we share the information with?
- Health and Safety Executive
- Public Health England
- Other Local Authorities including Primary Authorities
- A register of devices is listed on our cooling tower notification web pages.
Is any information transferred to or stored on servers based outside the European Economic Area?
No.
How long do we keep your information?
We keep personal information for up to one year after the removal from site of a notifiable device.
Who do we collect information from?
- You
- Head and registered offices of business
What are the consequences if we do not collect the data?
The council will be unable to fulfill its statutory obligations to keep a register and inspect notifiable devices within its area.
Are any decisions about you made by automatic means?
No.
